Rumah Gadang - Traditional Indonesian House Paper Model - by Paper Replika

A really beautiful paper model by Indonesian designer Julius Perdana, from Paper Replika website. He says: - "Rumah Gadang or Big House in English are Minangkabau tribe traditional house, from West Sumatra. This model was inspired by a Royal Palace at Pagaruyung. There are two styles of Rumah Gadang, one level and multiple levels. Multiple level usually found on an aristocrat house. Rumah Gadang traditionally owned by a woman in the family, and will be pass to her daughter because Minangkabau is a matrilineal culture."

The Real Thing

Um modelo de papel muito bonito criado pelo designer indonésio Júlio Perdana, do site Paper Replika. Ele diz: - "Rumah Gadang ou Casa Grande é uma casa tradicional da tribo Minangkabau, da Sumatra Ocidental. Este modelo foi inspirado em um Palácio Real em Pagaruyung. Existem dois estilos de Rumah Gadang, de um nível e com níveis múltiplos. Múltiplos níveis normalmente são encontrados em casa da alta aristocracia. A Rumah Gadang tradicionalmenteé propriedade de uma mulher da família, e passa de mãe para filha porque os Minangkabau são uma cultura matrilinear."
